Rachel Templin

Rachel is currently a senior research officer at the Ramaciotti centre for CryoEM at Monash University, specialising in correlative and advanced biological electron microscopy (EM). Rachel has a keen interest in volume EM, as well as the use of multimodal and correlative EM, and the challenges of these workflows.  She started her microscopy career at the University of Queensland where she completed her undergraduate degree and PhD, utilising EM to investigate the ultrastructure of invertebrate visual systems. It was during this time she began working at the Centre of Microscopy and Microanalysis which not only helped expand her knowledge and skill set in EM, but her appreciation for the technique. This was further bolstered during her time as a postdoc in the lab of Yannick Schwab at EMBL where Rachel collaborated to develop workflows for correlative and multimodal volume EM, which she continues to pursue at Monash.
